What’s in our Palm Melts?
Have you ever wondered what’s actually in your skincare? Our Palm Melts are made with a short, readable list of butters, oils and waxes, so you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin. Here’s a look at the key ingredients and the role each one plays.
Ingredients can vary slightly by product (for example, scented vs. unscented). The full, current list is always on our Ingredients page and on each product page.
1. Shea Butter
A classic for a reason. Shea butter is rich in fatty acids and vitamins that deeply moisturize and soften dry skin, and it leaves a protective, nourishing feel without being greasy. It’s the creamy backbone of every Palm Melt.
2. Mango Butter
Mango butter is a lighter, silkier butter that melts easily on contact with skin. It’s a wonderful moisturizer for dry, rough areas like hands, elbows and heels, especially in the winter months, and it helps give our melts their smooth glide.
3. Beeswax
Beeswax forms a gentle protective layer on the skin that helps lock in moisture. It also gives our cubes their structure so they stay solid until your skin warms them. (Because it comes from bees, our Palm Melts are not vegan.)
4. Soy Wax
Our soy wax (hydrogenated soybean oil) is a plant-based wax that adds creaminess and helps seal in the moisture from the butters and oils. It gives the melts their soft, crushable texture.
5. MCT Oil (Fractionated Coconut Oil)
MCT oil comes from coconut and is light, non-greasy and quickly absorbed. It helps the melts spread easily and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.
6. Arrowroot Powder
This silky plant starch gives our melts a smooth, non-greasy, powdery-soft finish so they feel light on the skin.
7. Vitamin E and Rosemary Extract
Vitamin E is a skin-loving antioxidant, and both it and rosemary extract help keep the natural oils in the formula fresh for longer.
And for the scent: fragrance oil
Each Palm Melt is scented with fragrance oil, which is how we get everything from warm vanilla to fresh florals. Our formulas are water-free.
Why water-free?
Because there’s no water in a Palm Melt, bacteria and mold can’t grow the way they can in lotions, so there’s no need for the preservatives found in most water-based products. Just crush a cube, warm it between your hands, and smooth it on.
