Body Butter as a Perfume Alternative and a Beard Balm: One Cube, Soft Skin and a Scent That Lasts
A perfume bottle and a beard balm are two things most guys keep on the shelf. Palm Melts can replace both. They are body butter cubes with the consistency of a balm, so one cube softens your skin, conditions your beard and leaves you smelling amazing. In our experience, the scent stays on your skin and in your beard all day long, especially when you apply it right after a shower.
Why a body butter works as a perfume alternative
A spray sits on top of your skin. A body butter goes on moisturized skin, and the scent has something to hold on to. Palm Melts are made with shea butter, mango butter, beeswax and soy wax, scented with fragrance oil, and they are 100% water-free. You get the scent and the moisture in a single step, with nothing to spritz and no bottle to carry.
That is the idea behind our Inspired collection. Each scent is inspired by a fragrance people already love, in a body butter you can wear as your signature scent. (They are inspired by, not exact copies.)
How to wear a Palm Melt as your fragrance
- Apply it after your shower. This is the best time. Your skin is clean and warm, and the scent goes on and stays with you through the day.
- Melt one cube between your hands. Press it until it turns into a silky oil.
- Smooth it on. Neck, chest, wrists and forearms are good places to start. Add a little behind the ears if you like a stronger presence.
- Let it settle. It absorbs quickly, so you can get dressed right away.
Want it stronger? Add a little more on your chest and forearms rather than rubbing it in harder. You can reapply in the afternoon or before an evening out.
Using it as a beard balm
The same cube doubles as a beard balm. It conditions your beard, softens the skin underneath and leaves your beard smelling like your scent all day long. Because the scent is in the balm, it follows you through the day, and your beard keeps the smell as the day goes on.
- Start with a clean beard. Wash it, then pat it dry or leave it slightly damp.
- Melt one cube. Press it between both hands until it turns into a silky oil. Start with one cube and only add another if you need it.
- Work it through. Go from the roots to the tips, and reach the skin underneath.
- Comb or brush. This spreads it evenly and shapes your beard.
The best time is right after your shower, when your beard is clean and slightly damp. Do your beard first, then use the melted leftovers on your neck and wrists, so the same scent covers you from head to toe. Keep it away from your eyes, and test a small amount on your skin first if you have sensitive skin.
