Lip Melts as a Cheek Tint: Which Shade Suits Your Skin

Both also work as a cheek tint, so a single tin in your bag gives you lips and cheeks with the same colour and the same smooth, glossy finish. Here is how to use them, and which shade tends to suit which skin tone.

How to use a Lip Melt as a cheek tint

1. Start with clean, moisturized skin. A tint melts onto the skin best when it is not dry or flaky.
2. Take a small amount. Swipe a fingertip across the Lip Melt. A little goes a long way, and you can always add more.
3. Dab it on the apples of your cheeks. Smile, and place a small dot on the roundest part of each cheek.
4. Blend with your fingertips. Tap and blend outward toward your temples until the edges disappear into your skin.
5. Build the colour. If you want a stronger flush, add another small layer and blend again.

Tips: Use the same colour on your lips to tie the whole look together. Because the tint is balm-based, it gives a dewy finish that works best on bare skin or over a light layer of foundation. Keep it away from your eyes, and test a small amount on your skin first if you have sensitive skin.

Galactic Rose: a soft rosy tint with a subtle shimmer

Galactic Rose is a soft, rosy tint with a subtle shimmer, with a sweet strawberry vanilla flavour for your lips. On your cheeks it gives a fresh, rosy flush with a little glow.

• Fair to light skin: a soft, natural-looking flush. Start with a tiny dab and blend well.
• Light to medium skin, cool or neutral undertones: a classic rosy flush that brightens your face.
• Medium to olive or tan skin: a warm, healthy rosy glow.
• Deep skin: expect a softer, sheerer glow. Build a few layers if you want the rose to show more.

Cosmic Plum: a rich plum tint with a luminous glow

Cosmic Plum is a rich, dreamy plum tint with a luminous glow, and a sweet vanilla and pomegranate flavour. On your cheeks it gives a deeper, berry-toned flush.

• Fair to light skin: use a very small amount and blend it out well for a soft berry flush.
• Light to medium skin: a deeper flush that works well for evenings and cooler weather.
• Medium to olive or tan skin: a rich berry flush that adds warmth and depth.
• Deep skin: a rich plum glow that shows up beautifully on deeper skin tones.

A quick note on matching colour to skin

These are suggestions, not rules. How a tint looks depends on your skin tone, your undertone and how much you apply, so the best way to choose is to try a small amount on your cheek. If you cannot decide, take both. They are easy to layer: a plum base with a rose layer on top gives a different shade again.
